NARGC Óige Training Day
A Safe & Enjoyable Introduction to Shooting Sports
We are delighted to welcome participants to the first official NARGC Óige Training Day, taking place on Sunday 26th July at Harbour House Sports Club.
This event is designed specifically for young people aged 14–19 years, and is aimed at novice and beginner shooters. The day focuses on creating a safe, structured and enjoyable introduction to shooting sports, with an emphasis on:
- Safety
- Confidence building
- Responsibility
- Learning new skills
- Enjoyment over competition
What’s Included
Participants will receive supervised instruction and practical experience in:
Shotgun Activities
- 25 shotgun shots at clay pigeons
- Static steel plate targets
- Moving steel plate targets
.22 Rimfire Benchrest
- 25 shots on a .22 rimfire 50m benchrest range
Full Supervision
- Guidance from experienced Harbour House range officers
- Support from NARGC staff throughout the day
Participants who already own a firearm may bring it with them. Firearms will also be provided for those who do not yet have access to equipment.

This is a fun, non-competitive learning day focused entirely on building confidence and experience in a supportive environment.
Important Requirements
To ensure the safe and smooth running of the event, the following requirements apply:
Eye & Ear Protection
Eye and ear protection is mandatory for:
- All participants
- All accompanying adults
This includes:
- Ear plugs or ear muffs
- Safety glasses
Parent / Guardian Attendance
- Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Accompanying adults must bring valid photo ID
- A visitors form must be signed at reception on arrival
